The Capital Kids Mascot Chase

The Capital Kids Mascot Chase is gearing up for its 3rd annual race on April 1, 2006 starting at 8:30 a.m. at Lifestyle Communities Pavilion, formerly PromoWest Pavilion. Featured as the children's portion of the John Bingham Racing Capital City Half Marathon, the Mascot Chase has become a much anticipated event for Columbus communities. Kids ages 12 and under from surrounding communities flock to the start line to run the .3 mile race alongside many of Columbus' most popular and adored mascots including Stinger, Max & Erma, Ronald McDonald and many more. But there is no need to worry who crosses the finish line first in this friendly competition. Every registered child who participates receives a medal, t-shirt, bag of goodies and best of all, the opportunity to interact with the lovable mascots.

There are several age groups to accommodate children 12 and under; from tiny tots in strollers to school track team stars. And parents, don't forget to bring your cameras. You are guaranteed to capture some hilarious moments as your child makes his or her way across the finish line to strike a pose with the mascots after the race. You definitely won't want to miss this fun-filled event that will have the entire family cheering.

Registration is $8.00 per child and includes a medal, t-shirt and goodie bag. A portion of the registration fee supports valuable Capital Kids after school programs.
