All of us at the Capital City Half Marathon and Commit to be Fit 5k are always looking for new running and walking resources to create the best
training experience for you as you prepare for the event. If you come across new helpful sites not listed below send us an email and we may add it

No Boundaries 5k Training
No Boundaries is the official training program for the Commit To Be Fit 5k. No Boundaries is specifically designed to help you finish running
or walking your first 5K. Go to noboundariestraining.com for more details.
The spring 2010 No Boundaries program will begin soon.
There will be an information session at Fleet Feet Sports on February 16th at 7:00pm and another on February 17th at 7:00pm. The first group
workout will be Saturday February 20th at 8:30am at Thomas Worthington High School. Please plan on attending one of the information sessions to meet
your coaches, to learn more about your training plan, and to see all the benefits that will come your way from No Boundaries. Fleet Feet is located

HALF MIT
We are proud to partner with the MIT Program as a race partner and an official Half Marathon Training Program.
Do you want to run your best half marathon yet? Have you always wanted to run or walk a half marathon, but didn't know where to
start? Here's a program that will teach you about running or walking in cool and cold weather, nutrition, goal setting, how to avoid injury, pacing,
and much more. The MIT program will allow you to run comfortably without spending a great deal of time training or recovering! This training program
is designed to prepare you for your best or your first 1/2 marathon - the proper way! You will be given a training plan to follow that will get
you to the finish line healthy and happy! Our goal is to motivate, inform, and get you addicted to running/walking! Though many of our participants
will have run before, the program is designed to accommodate all skill levels! So let's go! Join us this season and begin the journey to your first
(or next) 1/2 marathon!

Team in Training
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program is an Official Charity partner of The Capital City Half Marathon. The Team in
Training Program is the largest endurance-training program in the world. Participants train to complete the half marathon while raising money
to cure blood-related cancers.

The Capital City Half Marathon Medical Team
We are proud to have one of the best Medical Teams in the country for this event. Our Team is headed up by Dr. Darrin Bright.
Dr. Darrin Bright
Dr. Bright is a board-certified family medicine and sports medicine physician, with a special focus on the comprehensive care for runners,
triathletes and cyclists. His special interests include overuse injuries, stress fractures and Active Release Technique (ART).
He is the director of the MAX Sports Medicine Endurance Academy, head team physician for Worthington Kilbourne High School and Otterbein College
and serves as the medical director for The Columbus Marathon and Capital City Half Marathon. He also serves as a medical consultant and coach for
Marathoners in Training (MIT) and several other running and cycling groups within central Ohio.
Dr. Bright is an avid marathon runner and triathlete, having completed over 20 marathons including The Columbus Marathon, Cincinnati Flying Pig
Marathon, Chicago, New York City and Boston marathons. In addition to multiple Olympic and sprint distance triathlons, he also completed Ironman Florida.

Todd M. Kays, Ph.D.
Dr. Todd M. Kays is a licensed psychologist in Columbus and founder of the
Athletic Mind Institute,
an organization devoted to helping athletes and people of all walks of life achieve peak
performance on a consistent basis.
He attended the University of Notre Dame for his
undergraduate degree and obtained his doctorate at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
He has worked with athletes of all ages and ability levels, including professional, amateur,
collegiate, and high school, and has helped them become better people and athletes through his
peak mental skills training programs. He has been the sport psychologist for the Columbus Crew,
the major league soccer team in Columbus, Ohio and has worked with numerous soccer players and
coaches at all levels of sport throughout the country and world.
Dr. Kays has consulted and/or worked with athletes and coaches from all different levels of
sport, including Professional Hockey, PGA, LPGA and NFL. Dr. Kays was the first sports
psychology fellow at The Ohio State University. While at Ohio State, he trained several
athletes, coaches, and teams, some of whom were National Champions, All-Americans, and/or
Olympians.
In recent years, he has devoted much time to assisting endurance athletes, specifically
marathoners and triathletes, develop the confidence and mental toughness needed to run their
best races. He has co-authored two books: Positive Transitions for Student Athletes: Life
Skills for Transitions in Sport, College, and Career (2000) and The Parent's Playbook:
Developing a Gameplan for Maximizing Your Child's Athletic Experience (2001).
Dr. Kays is in demand as a speaker throughout the country and has appeared on radio,
television, and newspaper, including ESPN and Fox Sports. He is an adjunct professor with The
Ohio State University.
